Taiwan-花莲 2/8/15 清水断崖 / 太鲁阁 / 七星潭 / 自强夜市
21:41
Second day we decided to go out and take a look at the morning seaview.
The ocean is just behind our 被浪打到民宿, so it was super convenient.

Our Min-Shu
What a Singaporean wears to a hike. We were not cold, though it was cooling.
We joined a tour for the day to Taroko Gorge 太鲁阁 and the Seven-Star-Lake 七星潭 .
The tour is 700TWD/pax (30++sgd), which we think is quite worth it.
Things to bring for this tour:
1. Poncho
2. Torch light
Helmets will be provided, but the above 2 are not mentioned when we booked for the tour. Thankfully, me and P brought both along because we were planning to go on a hike ourselves. But there were many who were in the tour did not bring, and they couldn't go in the Rain Cave without being soaked wet.
You might be lucky and buy a raincoat from the lady at the car park before the trail, but the day we went, she wasn't there.
Our First Stop-清水断崖
View of the Ocean over the cliff!
Tri-tone Pacific Ocean
Another view
Second stop- 长春祠
This is built in memorial for the workers who were killed during the building of the roads through Taroko.
Third Stop- 燕子口
Fourth Stop: 慈母桥
Fifth Stop: Lunch-A huge Sweet Potato
Sixth Stop: 白杨步道
Our Tour Guide for the hike
Final Pit Stop: 七星潭
This is actually a bit of a disappointment for me. I thought there was more to this over-promoted tourist site than a beach covered with pebbles.
But the ocean was beautiful nonetheless.
after the tour, we asked our tour guide to drop us off at 自强夜市.
This is one of the recommended ones.
P is a happy boy with all the food.
Corn
Verdict: I think we prefer the one without the seasoning.
One thing we love when we were in Taiwan is the Orange Juice 柳橙汁.
Its awesome!
We spent about one hour at the night market. It is the biggest night market in 花莲.
After that, we decided that instead of cabbing, we would try to walk back to our Min-Shu.
Along the way, we passed by an old railway.
A nice cafe that i couldn't resist but to go in and ended up buying a pack of toast.
We bought more bread from this bread shop.
The bread shops here in Taiwan look so classy, chic and high class. (Their bread are affordable!)
Me and P just couldnt resist but to go in. And the friendliness of the staff make you feel guilty to leave without getting anything, so we always end up buying some thing.
