Vietnam - Danang 2/5/16 (Part 1) My Khe Beach
09:52
Hi fellow travellers! It's been a while. In 2016 we decided to visit a place where tourism is just starting to take off. So we decided to travel to Danang in Vietnam! It was quite a last minute decision and we booked all our flights and hotel with 2 weeks to go! We left our homes on 1st of May, taking Vietnam Airlines to Ho Chi Minh City before transiting to Danang on the next day at 9am.
Upon reaching Danang, we hired a cab and made our way to our hotel. We are staying at Bac Cuong Hotel, which is about 50m from the famous China Beach!! Oh and by the way, taxis are aplenty here in Danang and I've heard from fellow travellers that the drivers here are less.. how should I put it... scheming (yes that's right) than those you find in Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi. To be honest during our stay in Danang, we find taxis to be a very reliable mode of transport and we did not have anything to complain about them this whole trip.
Bac Cuong Hotel
The beautiful beach welcomes us to Danang!
The beach chairs could be rented but we decided to do it probably on our last day here.
As we were walking along the beach, we passed by this seafood restaurant and decided to have our lunch here. It was a nice meal and the seafood were very fresh. The owner could speak mandarin which made our ordering so much easier. We had the prawns and clams. We also ordered a fried rice but I think they did not take that order as it did not come nor it appear on the bill. The total bill wasn't too expensive (around S$40) , considering the number of prawns we ordered. We thought that we had discovered a gem... only to find out that there were many similar restaurants along the beach...
Surprisingly clean public toilet
We took a walk around our hotel before heading back to rest. We walked through their alleys and found out that there is a high school nearby. Some of the houses along the alleys were beautifully decorated.
House full of flowers
Interesting standalone barbershop
Take five with ice coffee
Wise words on the wall, Life Begins After Coffee
Chicken Rice Stall
That's all for now. It was a very pleasant experience in Danang even though it was only a few hours since we touched down. In the next part, we will be exploring the city centre of Danang which will take us the rest of the afternoon and evening. Cheers!
